Inconsistent MIDI Output When Switching Patterns on Polyend Tracker+

Bug Description

The MIDI notes are not being sent consistently to the external MIDI device. When playing just one pattern in a loop, there is no issue, but when switching patterns, sometimes the MIDI notes are sent, and sometimes they are not. I have tried using the official Polyend MIDI adapter of the Polyend Tracker+ as well as another Type B adapter, and also changed the MIDI cable, but the results remain the same.

When I unplug and replug the MIDI adapter, the Tracker+ starts sending MIDI out normally. But if I stop the pattern and try to play the sequence again from the Pattern Page or Song Mode Page, the inconsistency reappears. (see attachment)

I’ve tried this with various external MIDI instruments: a modular synth (via MIDI to CV), Elektron Digitone, and Sequential Take5. The inconsistency persists across all of them. I’ve tried to sequencing my routing and setup via Ableton or even my Polyend Play and it’s sequence smoothly. So I’m pretty sure it’s from my Tracker+ (I bought it less than a week)

Reproduction Steps

  1. Create a sequence of combined patterns between sample and MIDI patterns.
  2. Switch patterns from the Pattern Page or Song Mode.
  3. Observe whether the MIDI notes are triggered or not (in my case, it’s inconsistent).
  4. Try previewing the steps from that MIDI pattern.
  5. I need to unplug and plug again the midi adapter to make it to normal behavior

Occurrence

Bug is always reproducible. Every time I stop and play pattern

Additional information for this issue:

  • Sometimes midi output will behave normally if I hit Stop Pattern and re-Play the pattern or Stop pattern and manually trig the step (or hit Preview)
  • It happens in firmware 1.0.1 and 1.0.0 as well

Looking forward for your response, I just bought Tracker+ and all I was doing is troubleshooting this issue everyday

Hi @andrian.lody , sorry you’re experiencing issues with your new Tracker and thanks for logging the bug. We cannot reproduce the problem. Could you please send us the project (at least containing the problematic patterns) zipped and attached here, along with trackerConfig file from your SD card root folder. Then we can investigate the issue. Thanks for your support.

Hi @andrian.lody , any updates on this problem? Can you help us reproduce the issue? Thanks again!
