### What is the problem?

No Tap Tempo. Taking the Play to jams and not having the ability to tap in a rhythm as the Bass player gets a groove going sure stilts the flow.

### What do you want to achieve?

Set the tempo easily with tap tempo. It could be done i.e. with the Shift button plus the top left button near the screen.

Another possibility could be to tap the Tempo knob.

### Are there any workarounds?

No.

### Any links to related discussions?

### Any references to other products?

Many synths have tap tempo. For instance, the Tempest and the Korg ESX.

@ireallyhatemycompute thank you for your suggestion! I have restored the template that all wishes must follow to be considered for the #Wishlist. Can you edit your post to follow the guidelines from [Writing a good feature request](https://backstage.polyend.com/t/writing-a-good-feature-request/92), please?

Thank you! Following the guidelines, I have changed the use of first person and I have added a more neutral tone, to make the wish a community wish instead of an individual wish. Are you ok with these changes?

Also, I have added another possibility to implement this feature: tap the Tempo knob.

Yes, the Tap Tempo is very important to me too! - and i wonder that there are not more likes for this very useful wish.
Cheers, Mario

I would also be happy to have tap tempo on play(+). Perhaps shift+(one of the two buttons) on tempo page??

I need tap tempo too, but honestly I’d never spend a vote on this because my smartphone is always with me and I can easily tap tempo there.

^^^Guessing most people are not using the Play in a live environment or maybe slaved to a device that does have tap tempo.

Still think it’s a shame when a drum machine omits Tap.

Ok now I can imagine how it would be useful while performing jams. A cool live performance tool indeed. Better than dealing within the tempo knob, a more natural and quicker way of adjusting tempo on-the-fly.
