I like the tracker for its control and flexibility.
I know it’s missing features. I would prefer a better pitch algorithm, and faster processing. Perhaps non-destructive editing, but that means you have to be creative, which makes things unpredictable and is where the happy accidents live.
I note what you say, but of the two, Tracker jumps ahead of mpc for workflow, to me anyway.
That is more of a DAW, and vst/synths are lush, but granular control for programming is nowhere close to Tracker. Great for beats/hip hop, but complex programmed rhythms, Tracker jumps ahead.
Tracker is closer to Octatrack than most things, and its 128 steps gives more variety, which is a big bonus. It was the reason for purchase for me.
Synths, not really amazing for me, but I haven’t linked it to midi, so that might make a difference.
Sorry if it’s not perfect for you. It’s definitely not, but if you work with its limits it can be a great music making device.
Some votes have been implemented, and after sales has been superb for me. They sent me a new device when the old one’s radio failed.
As said, nicer pitch processing could have been nice, but overall it is what it is.
Edit. Have you normalised before slicing? Boost the transients rather than altering the sensitivity.
